A veteran of World War II and the Korean War, Ret. U. S. Army Sgt. Maj. Howard Bakeman, 92, at that time stationed at Pearl Harbor when Japanese bombers attacked through the air on December 7, 1941.
Bakeman said he was in the cafeteria at "0800 hours" when the cook came and warned determine if they are shooting each other. Howard Bakeman and others initially thought that the planes approached the bomber squad that had just arrived from California.
