Indonesia's deadly volcano Mount Merapi produced another powerful eruption today, Nov 1, at around 10.04 am, spewing superheated clouds into the air.
VIVAnews monitored from the command post of Pakem, Kaliurang, Yogyakarta, that the plumes of ash were sent toward the southern part of the mountain.
Refugees were panicked as soon as the sky was covered by the grey materials. "This [eruption] may be greater than the previous one," a refugee said.
Up until today, the eruption is still on the go. Volcanic ash is also apparently going to the east.
Mount Merapi produced two intense eruptions. On the 26th of October, pyroclastic flows killed around 37. On Sunday, Oct 31, an explosion that has never been occurred earlier was heard.
"I have predicted that this time Mount Merapi would produce greater eruption than those in 1997, 2001 and 2006," Chief of Geological Disaster Management Center, Surono, told VIVAnews this morning.
