Arnold Schwarzenegger Divorce - After a married life for 25 years, world famous film star, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver (his wife) decided to split. Separation was announced by a spokesman for Schwarzenegger on Monday, May 9 local time.
"It has become personal and professional transition are great for each of us," said Schwarzenegger and Shriver in their joint statement.
"After much consideration, reflection, discussion and prayer, we came to this decision together,"said the statement as reported by the Los Angeles Times, Tuesday (05/10/2011).
Schwarzenegger did not mention the cause of separation which had been a movie star 'Terminator' Shriver is a former reporter with NBC. Although it has been separated, both will continue to nurture their baby together.
"We continue to be parents of our four children together. They are light and the center of our lives together,"the statement that the couple was married in 1986.
"We consider this a personal issue and neither we nor your friends or our family would not comment further. We ask for understanding and respect from the media and the public," added the couple.
Schwarzenegger completed the 7-year tenure as governor of California in January. Since then, Schwarzenegger often traveling to give speeches and perform a variety of entertainment projects.
