The Playstation Phone

It's hard to believe that what we are seeing is real - but I assure you the picture above is actually the PlayStation Phone've long been waiting. As reported in August, the device you see is aimed at the market soon, probably equipped with the Android 3.0 (also known as gingerbread), along with a custom Market Sony that will allow buy and download games designed for the new platform.

Playstation Phone
The device was made with the top (and in our gallery below) is sporting a 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8655 (a chip similar to that found in G2, but faster than 200 MHz), 512 MB RAM, 1 GB ROM and the display is in the range of 3.7 to 4.1 inches. Looking almost identical to the model will hit the summer, the phone does have a touchpad long in the center that apparently is multitouch, and you can see in the photos still having those familiar PlayStation button shoulder. For Sony fans, you'll want to know that there is no Memory Stick slot here, but there is support for microSD cards.

The particular model in these photos is still in the prototyping mode. As such, the unit has a custom skin (not even seen design Timescape Xperia devices), and is said to be more mistakes. We are digging in more events as we speak, but it is likely that much of what was previously reported is still accurate, and although the team still could be headed for a statement of 2010, 2011 seems more realistic. However, there are a lot of time between now and the holidays ... in order to keep your fingers crossed!
