African Inspiration for New Bags from Vivienne Westwood
A world-renowned designers, Vivienne Westwood went to Africa to draw inspiration fashion collection autumn / winter 2011 update. He partnered with the International Trade Centre (ITC) in a program called the Ethical Fashion Programme.
The program is intended to empower poor women to have access at work to produce money for school fees, health fund, and their basic needs along with their children. They get a decent wage. Up to now there are seven thousand women of Nairobi teribat and have a strong desire to improve their lives.
This step is a foundation that is expected to inspire other private companies to engage in similar programs. Involving Westwood this time will certainly provide new ideas for the poor women of Nairobi so that they are skilled to work.
Westwood brought a photographer Juergen Teller who admit to being happy. "I'm really excited and felt my life was full," said Teller told Vogue.
Teller was in the same place with Westwwod to capture the ethnic bag-making activities.
"Our project allows some of the world's poorest people to enter the fashion world as a producer network. As for designers, it is important to they know who their collaborators," said Chief ITC Cipriani.
